Our Favorite Things About 2017

The past year was a roller coaster of natural and manmade disasters. We look back at a few of the things that made 2017 a little less awful.

The shifting perception of aging. From the growing numbers of over-fifty models on the runways to Allure Magazine declaring the death of the term “anti-aging” to the internets’ love for 95-year-old model Erni Stollberg, mature is now deservedly so much more. This has been the year of agelessness.

The rise of the anti-inflammatory. The rest of the world seems to be catching up to the universal truth that inflammation is a key factor affecting everything from acne to cognitive function. It’s good news as it brings more focus on a critical component in the health of both skin and body. And it pushed us to further explore the benefits of turmeric.

More men in our lives. This year, more than ever, the male beauty consumer stepped out of the medicine cabinet to proudly own their skin care routine. We interviewed Bart Kaczanowicz, the founder of the popular men’s beauty and style blog OMGBart!, talked to Atlanta esthetician Cesar Augusto about the finer points of manscaping, and got the secret of stage-worthy skin from jazz legend Ronnie Kole.

We took skin care to the kitchen. From the antioxidant power of purple foods, to the collagen-boosting benefits of hyaluronic-rich root veg, to the low glycemic joy of resistant starches that allowed pancakes back into our lives, we have been uncovering ways we can tweak our diet to support healthy skin and lifestyle. The the results have been delicious.

The year of living Vivant. This year, we set out to meet and profile some of the fascinating people who use and love our products. We’ve talked with estheticians, consumers, bloggers, fitness experts, style mavens, and more. Maybe in the coming year, we’ll chat with you. Tell us the story of how Vivant has changed your life in the comments below.

Giving back and speaking up. In a year full of challenges, it’s been heartening to see people rally to help those affected by hurricanes, floods, and fires; provide comfort to victims of tragedies; and speak out against injustices. To finish out 2017, we are supporting four outstanding charitable organizations by donating $10 for every order placed on our website. Through December 31, you can help by using one of the following codes at checkout.
